    Watchable cute fun.
Besides this film being based on true events, there's nothing really revolutionary to the story. It has your typical cliches and markings that this was put together by inexperienced filmmakers. Aside from James, most of the actors needed better cast directing, especially Taylor Lautner, who seemed like this was his first acting gig, and was the least convincing actor. Even the inexperienced kid actors were more convincing. Although the pacing was decent, the normally comfortable 95 min runtime felt much longer with some long dragged out and unnecessary scenes. This film needed more substance and less filler to fill in the existing runtime. The humor was either a huge hit or a huge miss. Nevertheless, it was still a fun one-time watchable film, and interesting to learn some backstory on Payton's NFL scenario.

    Kevin James has evolved.
James is serious and yet witty .. this was a great feel good movie .. motivation for young people. Absolutely love Kevin James and his co-stars . Great team effort to make another wonderful piece of entertainment.

    Better than it's Metascore
So sand Dads will enjoy it for sure. It was shallow but it was a Kevin James comedy, a comedy more than a true story about Payton and his son.

    Worth a watch.
