The tale of an extraordinary family, the Madrigals, who live hidden in the mountains of Colombia, in a magical house, in a vibrant town, in a wondrous, charmed place called an Encanto. The magic of the Encanto has blessed every child in the family—every child except one, Mirabel. But when she discovers that the magic surrounding the Encanto is in danger, Mirabel decides that she, the only ordinary Madrigal, might just be her exceptional family's last hope.

    Mildly entertaining
Here is another mediocre movie from Disney. The animation is well done and the music is wonderful, but other than that the movie just plods along. It is missing the "oomph" of the Disney of old that made so many movies memorable. It falls into the "cute" category. It's entertaining but lacks the punch of either comedy or tragedy of the Disney classics. There isn't anything overtly bad about the movie. Yet it is one of those movies that at the end, one is kind of glad that it ended. It just isn't captivating enough for an almost two hour movie. Is it worth a watch? Yes, but don't expect to be wowed.

Yes , it's a fun family film, but only with a slight veneer atop current Disney messaging
The family Madrigal, a large dysfunctional family that lives in an "Enchanted Casita" in a small mountain village in colonial era Columbia.

Of course given the latest trend, there are no strong male characters...they are all silly, shy , stupid or ostracized. Abuela , instead is our matriarch of the family and honestly she's not a nice or warm character. She's chasing the "miracle" and exploiting the magical powers her family has been given by some mystical force? ( No explanation , but in modern times we can have anything about God. Which is funny too because there's discussion of prayer and there is a priest character who is just there for musical number.) Abuela is terrible to her granddaughter, Mirabel and her son Bruno. While "We don't Talk about Bruno" is a fun , catchy song in the samba style it's actually pretty terrible how the whole family shuts out Bruno because his "gift" is telling people the awful truth about their futures.

Overall, the animation is good with bright vibrant colors, but the story is awful.

Even Lin Manuel can't save this dead donkey of a film.

It is very overrated in my opinion
I expected an adventure. The movie is okay, but i thought it was better because many people were saying that it's a 10/10. It is very overrated in my opinion! I think that it may be good for someone who doesn't really like adventures and stuff like that. By the trailers for this movie, i thought it's an amaizing movie that has a lot of adventures, but i thought wrong. It has very good songs and it is a good musical movie. Maybe i set my expectations too high. For a Disney movie, I excepted a movie with adventures, good music and fabulous characters. The idea for this movie is honestly great, but it didn't meet some of my expectations.

One of the best Disney movies of modern times
Very beautiful and empowering movie. I am happy to watch it with my children time after time. Even I as a grown up find myself in it. It has lots of magic, beautiful visuals and storyline for children and grown ups. Very entartaining like most of Disney movies. But at the same time it gives very strong empowering messages for children (and everyone) to embrace their individuality and special characteristics.

The main character is a girl, but most of the boys will like it too. It has some action and mystery that make feel thrilled to continue watching.

The songs and the music, latin style are very beautiful too.

A Lukewarm Shower of Colors & Culture
Encanto is long-waited production that helps spread the wonders and beauties of the Latino culture around the globe. The color combinations alone are enough to keep you staring at the screen throughout the length of the movie. However, the arc development and storytelling seem to fall short accompanied by the least catchy songs I have heard from Disney in the past few years. Frozen, Moana and Raya have all raised the bar for the next Disney animations, making it harder to create original yet familiar works of art as time passes.

Encanto is beautiful yet seems to have turned into Disney's Mirabel, a child that was not given the love and attention she truly deserved in all the aspects of the storytelling and character development. You will certainly be drawn to this display of rainbow macarons, but their fairly bland tastes will leave you a little disappointed making this a feast for the eyes but not really for the heart.

    Usual Disney
A template Disney story with song and drama. More characters were introduced with no time, failing us to connect. Moral of the story may good, it's having any good scenes to revisit. But kudos the animation Disney never lets that down. A passable one time watch.
