Sets the example for what an anime movie should be
I have to say I was blown away by this film, I am of course a fan of Haikyuu and I watched the entire series before going into the movie, I was expecting it to be good but not as intense and exhilarating as it was.

This is a battle between old rivals, so if you watched the series you know that Karasuno have had probably toughest fights before, in the sense that they have competed against theoretically stronger teams and come out on top with their smart tactics and amazing team work which is the foundation of the series, and of course which makes for great moments, but this is a different kind of match.

These teams are highly balanced, so this is a formidable battle of two teams that have had tough moments in the recent past but are now making their way to the top again and they are very close to each other in terms of game play!

I feel this is what the movie does perfectly, it is about how a rivalry can be and should be about great friends making each other better, there's no hostility between the players, mid game they even complement each other and while both sides want to win badly they also want for their opponents to play well to make things more interesting.

It's a beautiful example of sportsmanship, there's a lot of portions of the film that focus on Nekoma and their main players including some Kenma back story, and this is balanced of course with some really emotional and fantastic moments of overcoming your own inner demons!

Hinata was also on the spotlight and I loved it, actually one of the best Hinata moments (I am including both film and anime series) is on this film, I got chills when I saw it! The movie is so fast that once it ended I was expecting to see more, that's how good it was it could've been 3 hours long I was in for it!

Also aside from the outstanding animation, it's clear that they made a slight change in the narrative pace between series and movie and that's how it is done!! Anime movies are most of the times just the series episodes on the big screen, but here they actually made the movie cannon and not only that they changed the narrative dynamic to make more sense as a movie!! Shoutout also to the amazing soundtrack, it never fails to hype me up!

    🦅I Had Fun 🐈
Just Got out of a Screening of Haiku!!: The Dumpster Battle

It was a Fantastic Watch 🎉

Elements I Loved about the Film -

    • 📜 I Loved the Setup of the 2 Teams Nekoma & Karasuno each possessing a Number of Tall, Strong, Fast & Formidable Players.

    • 💭🤔 Another Excellent Element was Kenma being not very Athletic, but Mastering the Tactics of Volleyball, and Knowing the Game inside out & Knowing the Mentality of the Game inside Out.

    • 🦅🐈 The Cat and the Crow Symbol of one Team Being Formidable in the Air 🦅 & the Other Team being Strong Across the Floor 🐈

    • 🏐 The Actual Battles in the Some of the Rounds were Fantastic to watch, with Build Up in different Motions, Hyperreal Jumps, Slow Motion, Realm Shifts, Symbolisms etc. It was Such a Watch.

1 Gripe I have with the Film -

    • 🤷🏻 Why End the Film Like that? It would of been far more effective for him to do a slow motion stunning swerve ball shot that curls wildly and it falls just outside of the line and they lose. And then he should say "At the end of the day, I Still had Fun"

Overall, a Very Good Time at the Cinema.
