    A masterpiece of cinematography
This breathtaking film fully deserved every award it received and then some. I know that may sound corny and perhaps even more when I claim that everyone who worked on or starred in the movie, even the background or minor characters, but that goes to show how truly phenomenal the film is. The acting is top notch, the backround completely stunning and the original music hauntingly beautiful. Not to mention the miriad of quotable dialogue.

Titanic isn't just the best academy award winning film but an absolute staple of must-see movies. It's one that continues to stand the test of time and one you'll find yourself watching again and again.

    The stories were true.
I've watched it for the first time ever, and I have to say that I am thoroughly impressed.

My amazement has more to do with the technical aspects of the movie. Not to say anything about the movie was particularly bad, I was just marveled at what James and his team managed to do. There are so many points where I was watching this, and I thought to myself, "How did they do that?" I mean, was this as nightmarish to make as The Abyss was?! (That movie is underrated, by the way.)

All of the acting is great. Kate Winslet kinda steals the show for me. (And holy crap, she's beautiful.) She said she was disappointed with her acting in this movie. I think she's being a little hard on herself.

The characters are distinct and memorable.

It doesn't feel too long or too short. (TWSS)

    The score is fantastic.

It's corny and melodramatic, but the movie seems to be aware that that's the case.

I didn't cry but I did feel the intended emotions.

There's some green screen in there that shows its age. But for the most part-especially the practical stuff-the effects hold up extraordinarily well.

The sinking of the Titanic felt stressful, arduous, prolonged, and claustrophobic. As it did for all the people who were on it, no doubt.

And yes: HE COULD'VE FIT ON THE DOOR!

Personally, I like and connect with other James Cameron movies more, but I will definitely be watching this again.

    Miserable
The movie should have sunk without a trace ,just like the ship, worst movie 🎬 ever made in the history of Hollywood cinema 🎥, watch it at your own risk, should not be watched even for free, let alone watching in theatre, even watching it for free on television is waste of time & 3hours of your life you are not getting back, onevof the most boring, pathetic movies & stupid love story I have watched in my life time.

One of the greatest movies ever!!!!!
I was figuring out what movie to watch and realised that I hadn't seen titanic in years. When I put on I was immediately immersed and by the end of it I was in tears. I completely forgot how brilliant this film was. It builds the atmosphere so well and three hours flies by. It's no surprise it won a staggering eleven Oscars!

The movie is a masterpiece and I am greatly disappointed that it only has a rating of 7.9. HOW?!

This film should one hundred percent be up there with the top ten. It is brilliant, emotional and exciting all at the same time.

This film also has qualities that I really enjoy. Most movies nowadays try to fit into and age rating. If they want an R rati g they'll fill it with loads of gore. If they want a PG-13 they'll try to not go to over the top. But this film just shows you exactly what it was like and instead of focusing on getting a certain age rating they just made a beautiful film and then got given what age it should be for.

As I said one of the greatest movies of all time.

    Thank you James Cameron.

    Overrated
Okay, so after hearing about all the hype and people in the comments mainly commenting about how good this really is, I decided to give this a chance to watch. However, I did not like this movie. Not at all. IMO, it's not a piece of art. A boring, terrible, corny cheesy, brain numbing, poorly acted, and a terrible way to extend a generic romeo and juliet story set aboard the famous vessel. Also, I don't want anyone to say I am the only one who thinks this film sucked. It's miserably generic and painfully boring, I personally find this one of the worst films i have ever seen. Unpopular opinion.

    Oh no she didn't
If you're willing to suspend disbelief this is an enjoyable movie even at three hours however the ending just ruined the whole thing for me I mean really how selfish she could have sold that and given money to the poor or some thing which just goes to show that she's still an entitled selfish self-involved petulant person. She certainly didn't deserve Jack's sacrifice. So that's my opinion of the love story part of this movie- the technical effects and the incredible angst of what happened to all those aboard- survivors and victims , is not to be forgotten. A better ending (if you want to really make it Hollywood) is to have her give the pendant to the guy who was searching for it in exchange for her portrait...Or just because she knew how much it meant to him to find it after all the expense put into searching for it. I mean selfish! Self-centered! Narcissistic! And even when in the story she had the portrait made she left it behind with a note for her fiancé- she was just using Jack as a way to get back at the fiancé for his treatment of her as property. So she was basically using Jack as leverage... if the ship hadn't sunk would she really have run off with him? So totally unrealistic --I've never quite bought that she would be so willing to go from riches to rags for the sake of a tumble in a rumble...
