    Frustrating to watch
    With the Clancy name, I expected a military drama, with tier 1 tactics (at least tier 3) nested with a twist of reality and a touch of conspiracy. This was not that. Female SEAL Team OIC. Ok, check (we'll skip that her service cap has eggs on it, then it doesn't). SEAL team moving through a building full of enemy, local nationals and ex pats yelling "CLEAR!" Or "last man!". I'm no SEAL, but ok. SEALs calling themselves Soldiers. Ok. SEAL team that doesn't know each other? Is that DEVGRU or tier 0 SOP? Oh, but he is avenging his wife and his team that he doesn't know. SEAL team that loses their cool when a plane goes down. Skip all that. This seems like this was written and directed by people that heard about SEALs and need any excuse to take Jordan's shirt off. The story's premise is compelling. This execution was way off. Just seemed like they didn't know how to put the pieces together.

    Meh
    Couldn't care less how a movie compares to a novel it is supposedly based on. Just glad I didn't read it before seeing this poorly presented movie version of a military intelligence yarn which was hard enough to watch. Michael B. Jordan's one-dimensional acting is apparently limited to angry meanness, as he just doesn't have the likeability to carry the lead role, being too smug and not cool enough about it like, say, Bruce Willis, and he falls short of the powerful presence of say, Michael Jai White. The screenplay is too dark and more than a bit ridiculous most of the time, presenting a ho-hum, overdone CIA corruption plot. The casting left much to be desired as the unknown supporting actors will probably remain unknown, with the exception of Guy Pierce, who, in a minor pencil-pushing role, couldn't save this movie from mediocrity.

    Without Remorse
    On merit, this is two hours' worth of pretty good action/spy thriller with some spectacular action scenes (the plane sequence is pretty epic) and the usual expected political intrigue set in the present day Syria, America and Russia, and I enjoyed it for that - on that alone, it doesn't deserve some of the low ratings it's gotten. But when you consider the source material for this is Tom Clancy's Vietnam-era espionage thriller, you can only shake your head and wonder what could have been.

    The loose backstory of John T. Kelley aka John T. Clark's backstory has been lifted from the Cold War days of the CIA vs. KGB, has some Russian mob elements thrown in, and that is something that long-time fans of Tom Clancy (such as myself) are up in arms about. They've re-cast Kelley (he's gone from Irish American in the book to African American here) and so many other characters, discarded a few more, and changed so much of what made Without Remorse arguably the best of the Ryanverse novels. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for diversity in films, and I thought Michael B. Jordan was dry good as the lethal SEAL operator and there are other good performances - Guy Pearce and Jamie Bell to name just two - but I really wish they had kept Kelley and his story truer to the source material.

    Just a really terrible movie !
    They took one of Tom Clancy's best works and turned it into a terrible movie.

    The acting was just awful and the plot made no sense, if you could understand it at all. Of course the perception that American --Military, CIA and FBI can operate worldwide with impunity (the mission to Murmansk) which is just not true. Glad I got this movie free from the library and didn't have to pay to watch it. The script writers and directors should be ashamed of themselves.

    They could have followed the actual book and it would have made sense and been more exciting. The familiar movie scenario today take a couple of known actors and throw them in with unknowns and hope the movie sells.

    What Terminal List should have been - Michael B Jordan next gen action star
    This was a surprise - the reviews seem to indicate it wasn't that good - but seems to be more people ranting about not being a Tom Clancy perfect adaption.

    But this is a great military action thriller. If a bit predictable. Michael B Jordan is great as John Kelly the resourceful hero out for vengeance, but the whole supporting cast does an excellent job also. Sometimes you just need a movie like this. Looking forward to the Rainbow Six sequel, which were legendary games.
