Chris Hemsworth is in the Thor spot
Who would suspect this was directed by Kenneth Branagh.

Based on Marvel comics characterization of The Norse God Thor (Chris Hemsworth,) son of Fjorgyn (Jord) and Odin (Anthony Hopkins.) Thor being a brat and a snot needs to learn a lesson. So, he is tossed out to Midgard (Earth.) There he meets a girl Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) and He becomes a Thor spot.

Keep in mind this is Marvel's Thor so we do not want to expect the real Thor while watching this movie.

We get lots of corny jokes and bad eating manors. And what helps with plot twists is our old friend Loki (Tom Hiddleston.)

Be prepared for no end but a cliffhanger as this movie is planned as part of a series of movies that tell the Marvel tale.

A nice welcome pack to Marvel's cinematic universe
A good movie that chronicles the story of Thor and how he became the king of Asgaard and earth's greatest defender. But even so, I expected an all out action flick, as the trailers seem to have us believe.

To my astonishment, it had too much humour for my liking. Also, the storyline involving a god of importance like Thor is often very deep and intense. But director Kenneth Branagh made the movie simple and straightforward as if he'd just read Thor's book and decided to do a movie about it.

Two scenes peaked my interest though, that is when Odin was in his Odin sleep and helped Thor regain his powers on earth, as well as the post-credit scene, when Nick Fury shows Dr Selvig a brief case with the tessaract.

But despite my light remarks, I have given the movie at least 7/10 because the flaws I've highlighted are fare outweighed by the great things that occur in the movie.

    Story of two halves
First half was the best I've seen until no in marvel whole new planet good backstory in the Asgard of Thor attacking frost giants and Odin sending those back the shift between earth and Asgard were very enjoyable i really liked them Natalie Portman oh man how beautiful is she the fish out of water comedy omg that hospital sequence dining sequence the mystery that Loki is a frost giant and he allowed them to attack But it all felt apart in the second half the romance angle was too much impressed upon Loki clearly become the cliché villain thor just became too soft too early i don't know it was just happening for the sake of it.

    Easily the best Thor movie
This was the perfect balance of intensity and humor. You really felt the stakes, in ways that neither Ragnarok, nor Love & Thunder, came close to achieving. And this film had some of the best cinematography of Phase One; some of the shots were worthy of being framed!

Perfect setup for the first Avengers film as well. And though the MCU will never again be able to achieve the feeling of inaugurating otherworldly beings, this installment solidly stands the test of time. Everyone I've ever shown this movie has loved it!

    A good start
Is it the best mcu movie no but the story and acting is well done that it makes the film. It's not all about action and more about story and that's what makes this film somewhat better then other mcu films.it has its flaws it does drag on at times but it's still good.
