Very engaging and great acting by both the leads
Would definitely recommend to watch this movie if you haven't watched forrest gump. Amazing acting by Aamir khan as well as Kareena and good writing. Towards the end I was so connected with the characters of the movie.

The storyline is also good and it is a good Indian adaptation of a hollywood movie. I don't have any problem with remake of a movie as long as it hasn't reached to mass Indian audiences and I am pretty sure very few of them watch Indian movies.

Don't worry about the negative reviews, these are all my Hollywood fanboys or bollywood & Aamir hayers who have given 1 star and I am pretty sure they haven't even watched the movie and that has reduced the rating but actually a good one time watch.

    Not bad, but disappointing
Too many people have rated it 10/10, and too many have rated it 1/10. Honestly, all of them are wrong. This movie neither deserves any of these extremes. It's a mediocre movie. A bad adoptation of Forest Gump. But a watchable experience. Far from being the worst movie ever produced in India, or by Aamir Khan. If you read the reviews of 1/10 raters, you will realize that none of them have even watched the movie. Most of the 10/10 raters have rated so solely for balancing the rating (in their eyes.) I personally believe the movie deserves to be somewhere between 5 and 6, which is where it is. So the average rating is good right now.

Lots of people are saying that we shouldn't be comparing the movie to the original. Why shouldn't we? When this movie is openly an adaptation of the Forest Gump? Otherwise the idea of a low IQ man achieving big is not something new even in Indian Cinema. The movie that nailed the concept is Rockstar.

So, here is the main issue with Laal Singh Chadda. The movie has lost the true essence of the movie and Indianized the concept by making it too much delving into a love story. The original was throwing upon us more and more of the protagonists' achivements from his first person POV (he's misunderstanding things, but we're understanding those better), but so many of those are provided that we even start doubting at him at some stage if he's even telling the truth. We're not told too many of the details, but only the hints. LSC has used 3rd person POV just too many times to make us understand things too clearly, for which it has lost the true essence of the Forest Gumps' core of interest.

And although Aamir is my most favorite Indian actor of all time, sadly, he failed to deliver his true potential in this movie. In fact, he had done a seriously overracting here. I'm disappointed here. His portrayal of a low IQ sikh Laal Singh Chaddah is a big failure in this movie. And at times it felt more like he was trying to copy his own previously presented character in PK.

Regret; not seeing it on Silver Screen. ...
Laal Singh Chaddha (2022) Streaming on Netflix

Laal Singh Chaddha is a 2022 Indian Hindi-language drama film directed by Advait Chandan and produced by Aamir Khan Productions. It is an adaptation of the 1994 American film Forrest Gump, written by Eric Roth and starring Tom Hanks. The film stars Aamir Khan as Laal Singh Chaddha, a man with an IQ of 75 who goes on an extraordinary journey through life. Kareena Kapoor Khan co-stars as his love interest, Rupa.

The film has been praised for its heartwarming story, strong performances, and beautiful cinematography. Khan's performance has been particularly lauded, with many critics calling it one of his best. The film has also been praised for its sensitive handling of its subject matter, including disability, love, and loss.

However, the film has also been criticized for its length and slow pace. Some critics have also felt that the film is too faithful to the original Forrest Gump, and that it lacks its own unique identity.

The charm of the film is embedded in its simplicity, painting a clear narrative with characters that echo relatability, making it easy for audiences to root for them. The subtlety of its humor brings about genuine laughter, avoiding any reliance on cheap thrills. Its emotional arc, bravely engaging with challenging subjects, is delivered with well-earned finesse and thoughtful grace. In essence, it's a seamless blend of straightforward storytelling, understated humor, and sensitive portrayal of emotional complexity.

In essence, 'Laal Singh Chaddha' is a charming rendition that is likely to resonate with fans of the original 'Forrest Gump'. Despite its minor imperfections, this well-crafted film offers an enjoyable cinematic experience that is worth a watch, albeit not aligning with everyone's tastes.

A heartwarming remake of Forrest Gump
This is truly one of the brilliant films of 2022. I am appalled at the way in which this film was deliberately defamed and subjected to false propaganda by some brainwashed people. Aamir Khan's performance is really impactful in the film, although at some places he could have toned down his antics. The film brought tears in my eyes at the end. I was really impressed with the story being moulded from the original to suit the Indian context. The music is melodious and the screenplay is decently paced. At no point do you feel that the movie is too long considering the overall runtime of the movie.

    Beautifully adapted version.
After seeing this movie I realised the original "movie" can be adapted to any culture. Original movies main frame is great for showing dificulities and beauties of cultures.

    An emotional roller-coaster
Laal singh chaddha is just amazing movie.

Aamir khan as laal is good. His performance is average but still he done the emotional scenes good.

Kareena as rupa is amazing. She done her part perfectly.

Mona as laal mother is superb.

    Naga performance is below average.

Overall performance wise only kareena and mona are good.

But the story portrayal is what make this movie great. The emotions between characters are real power of this movie. Laal losing his friend than mother and than rupa all these scenes are very emotional.

The bond of laal and rupa is great.

    Overall a great movie.

    My rating - 8/10.

Ruining each and every frame of Forrest Gump
Why on earth would you make this monstrosity?

Right from first frame till the very last frame, they have successfully taken the movie Forrest Gump and shred it to pieces.

The plot line was kept similar to Forrest Gump and i think that was the mistake. Why not just copy the essence not the legs contraption as a child the ice cream scene (why was it even there), the whole movie is like that an anticipation on what is the next thing they would ruin.

There were numerous instances in the movie, you would think why on earth is this scene even there. Is it relevant to the film at hand or we just have to blindly copy the Forrest Gump movie. Why not start the movie with Aamir watching Forrest Gump (and show that movie in hindi dubbed).

I am a big fan of Aamir Khan movies (watched his numerous movies multiple times) and this left me heavily dejected.

Baazi (Die Hard) / Ataank Hi Ataank (Godfather) / Ghulam (On the waterfront) / Akele Hum Akele Tum (Kramer Vs Kramer) / Ghajini (Ghajini / Mementos) / Raja Hindustani (Jab Jab Phool Khile) / Taalash ( multiple english movies) / Mela (Caaravan) / Mann (An Affair To Remember) / Dil hai ki maanta nahin (It happened one night) /Jo jeeta wohi sikandar (Breaking Away)

You are an amazing talented actor, when you make Dangal, Lagaan, Rang De Basanti, PK, Lagaan, Rangeela, Holi, QSQT, Dil Chaahta Hai original movies, you are outstanding. Why do you have to hide in remakes?

You have a huge , there are so many stories still to be told.

Please be original or at least try to hide your sources well.
