If only special effects were good
"A Boy Called Christmas" is truly a standout amidst a sea of not-so-great films. The plot is refreshingly original and full of intriguing twists. I particularly enjoyed the ending, which tied up all the loose ends brilliantly. The overall storytelling was engaging, striking a perfect balance between dialogue and action, which kept the film from ever getting boring. The music, deserving of its music+sound award nomination, added a lot to the atmosphere.

The cast, while mostly common, had the extraordinary Maggie Smith, who delivered her usual stellar performance. The direction was more than satisfactory. However, the sore spot was undoubtedly the special effects. It's disheartening to see them fall short (watch the fire on the Elfhelm three in the end), especially when compared to the exceptional work on the mouse character. Some CGI-heavy scenes seemed unnecessary, which detracted from the overall experience. This aspect dragged my rating down a bit. I'd say it deserved an 8, but those special effects left a bitter taste.

    Christmas Magic
We all need a reminder that a little bit of kindness creates a lot of magic. A beautiful story of someone who suffered loss but didn't lose hope. Children and adults alike will love this magical story. Beautiful cinematography, storytelling, and scenery. A gentle reminder that stories are meant to be retold and shared among families and sometimes a little hope goes a long way to transform hearts. The acting was wonderful. The characters were endearing. The setting magical. No hidden agendas. Nothing to make a mama cover her little ones eyes. If you like the magical and the fantastic, this is a Christmas movie you will love!

    Cozy, warm, Christmas atmosphere movie
One of the better Christmas movies I have recently watched, which, honestly, can be a let down most of the time. This one doesn't most of the time, with it's beautiful visuals, nice story and the apperance of fans favorite Maggie Smith. The boy called Christmas did not leave me so great impressions regarding his acting performance, but nonetheless, it was a very nice relaxing winter movie.

    Boring
Very boring movie with boring acting... Not a real Christams magic at all. Actually this little fella is quite annoying as a character, and not comparable with anything about real Christmas meaning and magic. If you want to fall asleep in few minutes then it is a movie that you want to watch, if you want to experience the real Christmas magic better give a chance for classics or any other Christmas movies or cartoons..
