After Will Spann's wife suddenly vanishes at a gas station, his desperate search to find her leads him down a dark path that forces him to run from authorities and take the law into his own hands.
mrocco-1 - 23 March 2024 Not high budget but good old fashioned entertainment This is a short movie but we really enjoyed it. The watching experience is enhanced by knowing that the fabulous Gerard Butler ad-libbed most of his scenes. This is isn't intended to be an Oscar worthy movie on any level. It is meant to entertain for about 90 minutes and it did just that.
I have to write more to post a reviews, so now for my rant. I don't know what is wrong with people or understand their perspectives. Ignore the bad reviews, unless your are a woke movie snob. This is a movie where there are good guys and bad buys and the good guys win. There is no token woke character parts that you know are just checking boxes, other than the white trailer trash meth heads (with some color mixed in). And I don't need movies to mimic real life. Sure, some of the outcome is implausible, but so what. I want some good action with a happy ending and this movie delivered.
katykw-2 - 5 November 2023 Even Gerard Butler can't save this one Typical storyline of a husband and wife with marital issues. She wants some space to "clear her head" so he is driving her to her parents' home. They stop for gas at station/convenience store where she gets kidnapped. He immediately tries to find her. Over and over and over, but keeps running into dead ends. I thought the female lead (Jaimie Alexander) was two-dimensional at best. She didn't have a huge part but she could have created her persona but she is just on camera speaking her lines flatly. I am usually really pleased by a Gerard Butler performance but this one is not one of his better roles. His heart just didn't seem to be in it as he usually is. This could have been a really good flick but I just feel everyone involved with it did a "lazy job"--the cinematographer, the director, etc. The timing was very slow and plodding. The flashbacks in time seemed disjointed and just inserted wherever for no coherent reason. Not a stinker but not great either. I think this one goes into the category Not Art for Art's Sake, We just need a paycheck.
smoon-37789 - 12 June 2023 Sucker for these movies I am a sucker for these kind of movies - they are simple to follow - there is typically a backstory - you know the plot going into the movie - and it ends pretty much how you expect. I think because this sums up every Gerard Butler movie (aside from PS I love you and 300). It was a thoroughly enjoyable movie to watcha and not too drawn out.
The movie tried to throw in some twists and turns but ultimately the movie just tells a story of a man's wife who goes missing and his unending search to locate her. I was not a fan of the tension they created between the Police and the main character which leads to the MC taking matters into his own hands - that part felt too predictable.
cmheard-74502 - 18 December 2022 Language! In addition to what others have said about the mediocre plot, I just want to add that I wish screenwriters could formulate dialogue with a bit more intelligence. What I mean is, it's lazy writing when every other word is the F word. Sure, he's angry, or the other guys are drug dealers, so it's not going to be Shakespeare. But good grief. Try to craft some conversation with some meat to it, rather than all the juvenile blah blah blah. I can endure the mediocrity of the plot much more if the conversation is at least interesting.
I didn't mind that his accent went back and forth. The acting was bad by some, but Butler was intense and handsome as ever. Just clean it up, will you? Clean it ALL up. Acting, dialogue, plot holes.
pdobr - 22 October 2022 This was so cringe and terrible Everyone in this movie, every one who made it and every one who was in it (except Gerard) needs to be extremely embarrassed.
The explosion scene was literally so embarrassing. The graphics were AWFUL. This whole movie felt like a cheap, knock off that should have never ever been made. The script is dumb. The acting is extremely bad (except Gerard, he is a king). Literally why did anyone think this was a good idea to make.
The Only reason I finished it is because it's was cringe that it actually started to be funny. Definitely don't watch this, it's so bad and boring, completely embarrassing.
slmcclure - 15 October 2022 Good movie My husband and I enjoyed this movie. I don't know why there are so many low or middle of the road reviews. Sure the plot is something that has been done a hundred times before, but it wasn't completely unoriginal or predictable. Gerard Butler is a good actor. All of the cast was good. My only complaint is the language. I wish there weren't so many f bombs, but I'm sure I'd be cursing too if I was in that situation. I thought there was a good amount of action, mystery, and drama. The reason behind the kidnapping was a bit vague and could've used more thought. I would definitely recommend watching it.
