Just a sick and bloody horror movie
There was nothing special about the movie when I watched it. It was just Michael Myers ruthlessly finding his targeted victims for his sadistic pleasure. But there is one scene I'd like to mention in this comment: the hospital scene where people are so angry and upset that they want to catch Michale Myers. Michael Myers turns the civilians into monsters, and they indirectly make an innocent inmate, who they think is Michael Myers, jump off the window. The scene expresses that how vulnerable and crazy people can be when facing uncertain things. Human nature is driven by fear. Fear creates violence, sanity and horror. At that moment that the innocent inmate has to jump off to escape the civilians, they are just no difference to Michael Myers.

Yes it's bad, but to me in an entertaining way
When I first walked out of the theaters after watching this movie I was sure this is one of if not the worst Halloween movies, but after watching it a couple time's I actually enjoyed this movie and just think it's alright. By the way no movie in the franchise could be worse than Halloween 5 so that's that. The first problem I have with it is it's main characters. They are absolutely corny and have some of the worst movie dialogue I've ever heard. Tommy's absolutely insane in this movie and very corny. The whole "evil dies tonight" chant is incredibly dumb and would never happen in real life. Laurie is stuck in a hospital for the entire movie while all her friends and family are getting killed. Not every character in this movie is bad. I did enjoy some of side characters(even though they got killed) such as Sandra and Phil and Big John and Little John. I felt really bad when they got killed and to me they were the only human characters in this movie. They all could have easily survived but that's another story. The characters and dialogue are the main problem with this movie but besides that I liked everything else. This is easily one of the goriest and darkest movies I have seen. We've never really seen Michael go on a rampage and this movie shows that. I like the connections to the original movie a lot and glad they did the throwback scenes. The last thing I'll say about his movie is you're gonna hate the characters but at the end of the day they all get killed so it's kinda a win win. Give this movie a couple watches though.

This is an eerie and solid sequel with usual grisly killings and sinister happenings.
Another ordinary sequel starred/produced by Jamie Lee Curtis with more astonishing killings and loads of blood . Once again another following to John Carpenter's classic, this creepy sequel and gore galore film has to Michael Myers again doing another criminal spree . Following up to anxious Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) who suffers serious wounds and she must battle Michael (Nick Castle and Airon Armstrong) one last time . Laurie Strode being relentessly pursued , while the life of her own daughter and granddaughter hangs in the balance, although no one seems to believe in the existence of pure evil represented by Michael Myers . Minutes after Laurie Strode (Curtis), her daughter Karen (Judy Greer) and granddaughter Allyson (Andi Matichak) left masked monster Michael Myers caged and burning in Laurie's basement, Laurie is rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, believing she finally killed her lifelong tormentor. But when Michael manages to free himself from Laurie's trap, his ritual bloodbath resumes. So Michael escapes and travels to Haddonfield to kill her , as he discovers Laurie's house .As Laurie fights her pain and prepares to defend herself against him, she inspires all of Haddonfield to rise up against their unstoppable monster. The Strode women join a group of other survivors of Michael's first rampage who decide to take matters into their own hands, forming a vigilante mob that sets out to hunt Michael down, once and for all. So surviving victims of Michael Myers form a vigilante mob and vow to end his reign of terror. Evil dies tonight !. The saga of Michael Myers and Laurie Strode isn't over !. "You can't kill the boogeyman". More of the night evil came home, 40 years later . Let it burn!. Three generations Strode strong. Laurie must now take on her brother with her daughter's life at stake. Again Laurie escaping and going after Michael Myers who makes a real massacre at a Halloween party .Face Your Fate. 40 Years Later, Evil Returns Home. You don't believe in the Boogeyman? You should. Trick or Treat

The film displays thrills , chills , cardboard horror , tension and lots of blood and gore for nauseating execution . The grisly murders are extremely scary and eerie with abundant stabbing shots . As always, Michael makes an authentic slaughter with gruesome and bloody assassinations using his supernatural and immortal force and his regular butcher knife. This Halloween Kills (2021) pays tribute to the first John Carpenter's Halloween (1978) , but forty years later and being originally paced by means of various flashbacks . In fact , in this follow-up shows up : Jamie Lee Curtis, Charles Cyphers, Kyle Richards, Nancy Stephens, and Nick Castle, all of them were all in the original and all returned for this sequel. Laurie Strode/Janet Lee Curtis is now an unsettling and deranged grandmother who attempts to protect her daughter Karen : Judy Greer and granddaughter Allyson : Andi Matichak. Since Jamie Lee Curtis had begun to wear a much shorter hairstyle in the 1980s, she had to wear a wig that matched her original hairstyle for the film . Here stands out the large number of decent secondary actors , including the following ones : Judy Greer , Andi Matichak , Thomas Mann, Kyle Richards , Robert Longstreet , Anthony Michael Hall, Charles Cyphers, James Courtney , Nick Castle , Will Patton, among others . In addition , there's a special homage to Dr. Loomis , Donald Pleasance, by a stand-in , Dr. Sartain played by Haluk Bilginer . The first films of the Halloween saga were released by Universal Studios ; after the massive success of the first film, Universal picked up the sequel . When Halloween III (1982) didn't fare so well, Universal gave the rights to Trancas International, an affiliate of Universal's, who produced the films until 1989. In 1996, the rights were sold to Miramax .

Usual screeching musical score including classic Halloween melody from Cody Carpenter and John Carpenter , the latter also produced along with Malek Akkad, Jason Blum, Jamie Lee Curtis and director David Gordon himself. The motion picture was professionally written (David Gordon with his college buddy Danny McBride with whom he frequently works) , and well directed by David Gordon Caron (Halloween kills, Halloween ends , Prince Avalanche , Joe, The sitter , Your Highness) , though without originality . David has made a recent Halloween trilogy formed by Halloween (2018) , Halloween kills (2021) and Halloween ends (2022) . It's an OK juvenile entry into horror movie genre , being specially remarkable for Michael Myers saga followers . The first was¨Halloween¨(1978) by John Carpenter , followed by worst and never-ending sequels : Halloween III , Season of the witch (1983) by Tommy Lee Wallace with Tom Atkins ; HalloweenIV , The return of Michael Myers (1988) by Dwight H Little with Danielle Harris and Elie Cornell ; Halloween 5 (1989) by Dominique Othenin Girard with Elie Cornell ; Halloween : the curse of Michael Myers (1995) by Joe Chappelle with Paul Rudd , and Mitchell Ryan ; Halloween H20 (1998) , 20 years later by Steve Miner ; Halloween Resurrection (2002) by Rick Rosenthal with Busta Rhymes and Jamie Lee Curtis . And Michael returned back to horror with the very successful Halloween (2022) with Janet Lee Curtis ,Andi Matichak , among others.

The best out of the trilogy
Halloween kills in my opinion is the best Halloween film in the 2018 timeline / Even though there are dumb characters, plot was alright and Laurie was in bed the whole movie I really enjoy the characters even if there doing dumb stuff, I laugh a bunch at big John and little John when big John was singing and as for kills this is probably this and Ends that have the best kills of the franchise and I think it's perfect , Micheal Myers is still dark and I do love how his half mask was burnt and I love the scene where he kills big John in a gruesome way , best kill of the film and I have to say this film, 2018 and Ends are great / Overall for this film 9.8/10.

Homages are Occasionally Interrupted By Some Sort of Plot
The other reviews explain the movie and its numerous issues well. So I'll skip that. You should already be familiar with the basic plot, so I'll skip that too. Tonally weak. Atmosphere off. If it wasn't a franchise film with lots of callbacks, I would probably rate this a 3.

I just wanted to mention a few things:

    1) Big John/Little John were fantastic. I want a full show of that. Tangent: I find it odd we don't really hear the outcry from "stealing roles" when it comes to orientation, only race and disabilities. Weird. Seems like an inconsistent outrage barometer.

Regardless, they were a hoot and I want a spin-off sitcom starring the Johns.

    2) We constantly see the trope of "'good guy' with gun saves hostage with perfect shot", and we rarely see the guy missing and killing the hostage! Nice to see.

    3) Cheryl/Carol would have ended this now nonsense series a long time ago with some well placed explosives fashioned from hospital equipment.

    4) I think Danny McBride was channeling his old show's energy into a "serious" horror film. Didn't really work.

    5) The film is a lot more enjoyable if you imagine Michael is desperately trying to suicide-by-cop-or-lynch-mob and getting increasingly frustrated how the idiot-filled town is incapable of performing this favor.

    6) SMH moments when AMH tries hard to deliver a grade school speech with the utmost sincerity.

While fun at times, especially the Johns, the majority of the movie just feels lazy in terms of plot, dialogue, and production. Directing was fine I guess; just not much to work with. Perhaps all the effort was concentrated into Halloween Ends. We shall see.

    It is Halloween!
I don't get why people are so mad over this movie. It's legit a great horror movie! Yes there are stupid choices but the Halloween franchise is FILLED with "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" "WHY DIDN'T YOU SHOOT HIM?!" moments. The only reason it doesn't get a 10 is because some of the dialogue is a little too corny for my taste.

Judy Greer and Jamie Lee Curtis KILLED (pun intended) their roles. Most deaths were brutal and there were plenty of them. Some were over the top and make you go "really?" but that's what makes it fun. Plus the references to the other films in the franchise were fantastic. See it.
