    Another Predator Movie, Another Disappointment.
Nobody ever learned anything from the past failures of this franchise.

As a huge fan of the Predator and Alien franchise, it has become a normal thing to get disappointed whenever a new movie came out. The movie was predictable and boring. Same old formula, just a different setting from the modern world.

None of the characters were likeable nor interesting enough. The acting and dialogue were terrible. Who the hell agreed with this garbage script? There is no way anyone could understand alien technology in just a few hours. This movie was so unpleasant to watch that I'm left speechless to write more.

Humans are the biggest mistake in this movie. I can only wish that one day someone would save this franchise.

    Boring, pretentious and unrealistic
I decided to watch the movie after seeing the positive reviews, but within ten minutes, I found myself mindlessly scrolling through my phone. Despite my efforts to engage with it, the film only became more tedious and implausible.

    Let me delve into specifics.

On the positive side, the cinematography and sound design are well-executed.

    However, the negatives abound.

The storyline is disappointingly shallow: A Predator arrives, all male characters fail, and the female protagonist, driven by a desire to prove herself, emerges victorious. That's the gist of it.

The movie struggles to make the main character compelling. While the beginning hints at her shortcomings in hunting, she quickly assumes a know-it-all, bossy demeanor, which feels unrealistic. It strains credibility that a girl would be hunting in a Comanche tribal community in 1710 without a compelling reason. When questioned by her mother, her response, "Because you all think that I can't," falls flat as a motive, lacking depth and failing to garner sympathy.

Furthermore, the storyline fails to introduce any fresh elements to the Predator franchise. There's no new backstory or innovation-just a recycled version of what audiences have seen countless times before.

The protagonist's confrontation with the Predator is equally unconvincing. While a tribe of skilled hunters is easily dispatched, she, weighing a mere 100 pounds, miraculously holds her own, enduring blows that would cripple the Hulk. A 250-pound alien hunter, trained to kill with advanced technology, is not scary at all to her. Oh, maybe because she "invented" a yoyo tomahawk-that supposedly demonstrates that she is the smartest person in the movie.

In summary, this film feels like another generic Disney blockbuster, complete with a supposedly strong female lead and politically correct themes. It's tedious, pretentious and lacks realism.

    What This Franchise Needed
Prey did a very good job of reviving the Predator franchise in a new and exciting way. Placing the Predator in a Native American setting is very unique and they movie did a cool job exploring that. There is a nice blend of Native American culture with the action sequences. The action here is very good in general. The movie also has solid visual effects. I like the lead actress quite a bit but some of the side characters were definitely a bit one note and bland. I also would've liked for some more of the dialogue to be in the native language instead of English. Although Prey isn't perfect I still think it was a really good time overall, and is exactly the breath of fresh air that this dying franchise needed to keep going. 7/10.

    Best Predator movie to date.
There I said it. I will always have respect for the original movie to bringing the concept into life but for me, this one takes the top spot as the better movie. Everything about this movie is perfect. The story, the cast, the acting, the CGI, the soundtrack, the action, and yes even the runtime. Don't listen to reviews saying it's too low. It's just not. It doesn't have to be. I also loved the way they updated the Predator's design. Here I was thinking that it couldn't get any uglier.

The way this movie got practically no promo and no theatrical release is absolutely tragic. It's basically made to view in a theater. Definitely recommend watching this if you like action sci-fi. You don't even have to be a Predator fan to love this one.

One of the best Predator movie so far.
I relay like they bring the movie back in time but still connection with the original books, and movies. It was a great idea. And not just the idea is great. The pictures, the actors and actresses, are great. The director, the music, everyting. A bit reminds me the apocalypto, which was also a great movie to. Only one thing what was came out as a question after seeing second time the movie, is the HEAT. Becouse Predators are comming when its Hot, or Hot areas, like jungels. But here it seems not to hot or just the indians isnt complaining at all. But its realy not looks hot. So thats the only mistake here, otherwise its a great great movie what i will wach more the two times, im sure abaut it.

Good film in the predator series, caveat is understanding the ratings
This is a good film and enjoyable in its own right, it becomes difficult to rate when considering the franchise (obviously excluding the avp nonsense) Here are the predator films ratings, if they match up with your read, otherwise its on you.

Predator - 10 Predator 2 - 9 (he ain't too old for this 'predator') Predators - 6 The Predator - 6 This is on par with the last 2 easily, it brought enough inventiveness to the franchise and a story angle the previous 2 did. As a predator fan watch and enjoy. The predator is my favourite out the 3 but the 1st stands alone and I can help but love Danny glover lethal weapon the pred, what a 90s concept!

    Too inconsistent to be good
    What they did well:

    1) Beautifully shot and edited. The cinematography is well done and enjoyable.

    2) Fairly good and accurate representation of the Comanche Nation (based on what I read online and saw in the film). It comes off as respectful and overall well done.

    3) Most of the action sequences are fun to watch.

What they did (sometimes horribly) wrong:

    1) The female lead character is interesting and the movie starts with a relatable backstory for her, but the whole thing crumbles by the third act. On top of the "men bad, women good" elements that are a bit too black and white and awkwardly dropped here and there, the main character mainly defeats the predator by becoming suddenly stupidly agile and strong. It feels lazy and uninteresting, especially considering that she's previously presented as a good hunter because she is smarter and more calculated than the men. There's an attempt at maintaining that with her final "trap", but it's not believable and relies on the predator suddenly seeming lighter and weaker (compared to what the movie established earlier itself) on top of it also temporarily becoming very (very) dumb.

    2) The (what I suppose to be) French Canadians characters are written like this movie is a cartoon. It clashes way too much with the other characters that seem to act like normal human beings. Their accent is absolutely terrible and they act like pure caricatures, so much that it took me out of the movie right away. I understand that they're disposable bad guys, but this is just lazy to a point where it's hard to ignore: they basically act and talk like a bunch of orcs from an old video game.

    3) While it's common for action movies to have the strength of the characters and creatures shift a bit for the sake of the story, in this one it's just too obvious and it makes the established plot and universe a lot less believable. The Predator almost goes from superhuman to average human strength from one scene to the other. If your monster lifts a grizzly bear over its head easily at the start of your movie, it should retain similar physical capacities all the way through.

Overall, this movie feels like a sour waste of a good and interesting setting.

Who has rated this so high?
Rebelious teenage girl defeats monster that kills everything in its path. Sounds familiar? Oh because this film has been made like 100 times in recent years, with plots varying a little bit.

I have no idea who has rated this so high. Not only was this woke but just extremely boring. Worst movie in the Predator series so far (and there have been some bad ones).

I cared nothing for the main caracter nor anybody else. They also weren't convincing in their roles - it did not feel like some 300 years ago but rather a contemporary teenage reality series set in the woods. They need to stop casting teenage girls for every single role, especially monster destruction roles.

It was beautiful though but that didn't save it.
