    A jewel!
I had no clue what this movie was about when I started watching it. From the beginning until the very end, I felt completely absorbed by the story. The title, Slumberland, gives you a hint about the topic but the level of fantasy, the impeccable special effects, the camera movement and clever editing really make this movie a masterpiece in its genre. However, that's not all, the character development, acting and storytelling are top notch as well. I 'm not a teenager but a grown up 56 year old woman who happen to love fantasy movies. I had to watch this film three times to get all the jokes and references. This movie can be sad, hilarious, adventurous and incredibly surprising.

Many of us have shut down our heart because of grief and pain; this movie will teach you why it is so important to open up your heart again. A big thank you to the writers and all those involved in the making of such jewel!

    Great heartwarming story
I really don't know why anyone would give this a poor rating. To be honest it was low on my list of shows to watch because I didn't read the reviews I just looked at the overall # and thought "meh it must not be good". But we watched it last night and it was very heartwarming. Made me cry in some parts. I definitely think they could've written more movies based on the story line. Jason Momoa was cute in it. The female lead was acted beautifully. There was action, laughs and drama. My husband who doesn't like new movies really enjoyed it. Our 9 y/o enjoyed it. I enjoyed it. A good family movie without language. Whodathunkit? Maybe that's why others don't like it because it doesn't have language in it. The only thing I would warn against is that the father dies in the beginning. If you've suffered trauma in your life or your child has it might stir those emotions to the surface.

    Really sweet and original fun
This film was very sweet and touching. It was a pretty original storyline, and had twists and turns I didn't see coming. And it was so much fun! Inception meets Matilda meets Harry Potter.

Spoiler: I felt like Jason Momoa overacted a bit, but finding out later who he is, it kind of made sense as an acting choice. I'm not too mad about it. It made sense that he was over the top considering who he really was.

Another spoiler: don't worry, the Pig is ok!

I'd recommend this film to be sure. I thoroughly enjoyed myself watching it. I hope it gets more love and attention because I thought it was quite lovely.

A sweet therapy for the heart
Movies have the power to take you to different dimensions: this one has healing effects. It may feel a bit like a fairy tale at first but the more you immerse yourself in the movie dreamlike atmosphere, the more you will feel your heart gradually opening up like a ripe fruit. Make sure not to be disturbed while watching it and let the magic of this film surround you in a warm embrace. A must watch for those who need an injection of hope and faith in their life. The acting is so realistic to make you forget you are watching a movie. There's a psychological aspect in this movie which deals with depression and how we, as humans, often get stuck in trauma though our soul is singing a completely different song. Children will definitely enjoy it but adults and teenagers will love it.

    best movie
It was very exciting to see Nemo's dream lead to reality. The harmony of each actor seemed to be fun and well-organized, so I was able to watch it comfortably throughout the movie. Good storyline with bad screenplay
So this my second movie review let's do it.

Slumberland is an kid genre movie. It can't be any commercial movie.

In fiirst half of movie initially The movie starts around the daughter and father story.

They were living in light house then something happens and her dad dies.

Then custody of girl has been given to his uncle.

Then famtasy of dream starts in drean of the girl and entry jason mamoa.

Initial movies looks interesting and keeps the pace of movie but after 50 min it lost pace and become typical kid type of movie.

In second half is good and climax is average.

So you can this movie one time.

    The worst movie ever
To be honest, I haven't seen such a fool for a long time..

It seems like a sad fairy tale, the girl tries to escape from the sad reality in her dreams, but the character of Jason Mamoa is pure horror .

Such a cheap parody of Jack Sparrow could not have been woven here - it would have turned out much better.

I thought that the whole film was based on Mamoa, but in fact, such a star only lost it.

If the directors wanted to make something like Narnia, they should have added less jokes and more drama.

And so - I didn't know how to sit through those one and a half hours to the end.............

Not based on the classic comic and vastly inferior
This movie is not based on "Little Nemo in Slumberland" by Winsor McCay, maybe on a short summary, but not on the work itself. It owns much more to "Inception" (2010) and some virtual reality movies. For the longest time it makes you wonder: What is this all about? Is there a story at all? What's up with all the bureaucracy in "fantastic" movies? In the end it's revealed that there has been a story. Not a great one, rather an uniquely silly one, not the one probably all kids expected, but at least some story. That's a nice surprise, after all the aimless meandering. You will see a lot of vaguely familiar scenes, you will learn one thing or two about doorknobs, learn things you'd better not use in real life, like: stealing makes a man attractive to women.

"Little Nemo: Adventures in Slumberland" (1989) is a much better film. It is actually based on McCay, therefore chock-full of original and phantastic stuff, it's got an intense, high energy beginning, that draws you right into the world of Slumberland, and it has a positive, uplifting spirit. All those things are totally amiss in "Slumberland" (2022): A sense of sadness dominates the whole movie, the wake and the dream world alike. The land of the dreams is just a generic, bleak CGI world, the realm of the glorified bully/gangsta Jason Momoa (Flip), a Pan accompanied by the nymph Marlow Barkley (Nemo). Precious few people will feel pleased after watching "Slumberland". But it will help many who have problems finding sleep. Honest Tagline: Trouble sleeping? Watch this movie!

In McCay's vision, Slumberland is created by the fantasy of happy and energetic Little Nemo, it is a place of amazement and adventure. Here it's a virtual reality, a tedious metaverse, controlled by "wise" bureaucrats. Those two concepts are worlds apart.
