    Solid "starter" horror movie
Tarot has an interesting premise, although it fails to fulfill its full potential. The script/plot isn't anything spectacular, you can find pretty much every horror movie cliche here. It isn't exactly boring, but it is quite predictable.

The designs of the cards themselves are cool, and might pique the interest of Tarot card readers.

Like actual cards, the characters are tossed onto the table, and you get a brief overview of each of them. They then proceeded to be killed off one by one. Needless to say, there is no opportunity to grow attached to them, save for the "main" ones.

That being said, Tarot can work as someone's first horror movie. Being PG-13, it's fairly tame and can prepare new viewers for future horror movies. If it was R rated, it could have had better kills and frights. A good majority of the kills happen offscreen or in simple ways.

I predict forgetting about this movie in a couple weeks.
It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be, but I wouldn't call it "good." It's basically like if they picked up a Final Destination script from the cutting room floor. Kids play with tarot cards that have been cursed, kids get dead in similar ways to their readings. The interpretation of the cards is not even half assed, it's like quarter assed? I liked a lot of the scenery nods to their deaths, the bulletin board in The Fool section was neat. One part did give me a jump scare. The end had some humor. This could have been much more creative but if you're trying to waste some time between now and the next Final Destination, this is at least better than the bridge one.
