    More like Jeepers Creepers: Stillborn
It takes a special kind of talent to call your franchise reboot Jeepers Creepers: Reborn (2022) and promptly kill the series you are trying to resurrect. A young couple go to a horror convention (that is scary enough) and get selected to do an escape room house based around the local legend of The Creeper, the winged man-monster that shows up every 23 years. What they don't know is this is all a set up to make them the creature's latest meal.

For better or worse, Victor Salva's Jeepers Creepers trilogy was a solid intro for a new "horror icon" (© every horror news site). It set simple rules and had its monster attack people. This follows that same set up, but tries to up it with some bizarre new plot twists. For example, this one features a cult that worships the Creeper and brings the victims to them. If you are hoping for more info than that, you will be sorely disappointed. The film literally has the cult trap the people in the house, one of them says, "They're all yours now" and then they walk away, never to be seen again. There is an interesting new idea where the Creeper can attach dead body parts to its own damaged body to regenerate, but again it is never fully explained. Heck, if it was it wouldn't even matter as the film is so cheaply made. A lot of criticism online has been about how damn cheap the film looks and I can't disagree. From the fake sets to the greenscreen work to the fake CGI, it looks more like a bad Youku movie. Director Timo Vuorensola made those terrible looking Iron Sky films, so it makes sense this looks just as bad. You know you've screwed up when the viewer is wishing for the more subtle style of Salva. I did get a couple of laughs from dumb bits like the phone in the decaying mansion still working (did the Creeper immediately start a phone plan when it was resurrected that morning?) and the bit where the hip Youtube crew (ugh!) following our leads find their cameraman dead minutes after they arrive at the house and one says, "It's fresh, whatever got him just got here." Of course it is fresh! You literally just got there with the man! Sadly, boneheaded stuff like that can only entertain so much.

    The worst
Terrible script and story. Actors have no chemistry. I did not believe the couple one moment were into each other as intensely as the dialogue and situation asserts. I can see they were putting all they could into it, but something feels off.

Was there any director? The camera does nothing to accentuate the scenes at all. Point and shoot is what it feels like. Sets are uninspired. CGI automatically drops a movie's believability, so you'd better have the money to make it work well for you.

As a whole, it feels like a fan-made movie and true to form, most fan-made films miss the inspiration that created the original and end up focusing on what they think are the sensational parts. So, the movies are just how to get the characters in line for the kill. Shallow, boring shots, unnecessary dialogue and the creepers 'waking' up sequence? We could definitely have done without that. The mystery of where it goes, hibernates and wakes are a terrifying thought which has been ruined by this movie. Also, to show any creature having a cult and ritualized summoning places it under the control of it's prey=not scary. Especially when the ones summoning are usually lame character types. I cannot think of any movie where they are as scary as the thing called, and if there is one, I'd bet their storylines were done so well that it was deserving. Here, it comes off a lazy and non-creative.

A deep dive into the original should be enough to get a feel for what Salva's original though was for the Creeper. Not even two or 3 were as mind warping as the first.

This movie literally is like a copy of a copy of a copy making it thin, faded and something given with the understanding "it's not directly related, but you kinda can see where it came from".

    Horrendous
An abomination to 1 and 2 (3 ok but no where near 1 and 2) switched it off one of the worst horror films I've ever seen utterly appalling. Jeepers Creepers one and two are up there in my fav top 10 horrors but this? Absolutely awful, terrible all round. How they even had the cheek to release it is beyond me and no one should waste any minutes of their life watching this garbage. Total let down. I would be all for a number 4 if it had the same quality as the first 2, number 2 will forever be my favourite but this was a complete insult the the others. I can see from the other reviews etc everyone basically feels the same which is no surprise considering how horrendous the film is.

    CGI Disaster
No wonder they lost 5 million dollars.

I don't know why they bothered. It's poorly made and sad acting.

I couldn't even finish it and someone would have to pay me to watch the rest.

They had a 10 million dollar budget and all they did was a whole bunch of green screen scenes with bad costuming. I could make a better movie using my phone and a dslr camera.

I am a fan of Jeepers Creepers and this one doesn't deserve the name.

Save yourself the hassle and don't bother watching it. You will kick yourself if you do.

I am 78 characters short for this review and I don't know what else to type. Have a great night.

How do I give this a negative rating?
It's really become a shame what production companies are doing to cult classics.

There's a million terrible reviews already and rightfully so.

My biggest thing with this movie is I'm fairly confident if 95-100% of the movie is filmed behind a green screen. And since no one ever seems to use practical effects anymore, they just CGI the rest. And it is bad.

You have to be immersed into a horror film in order to build suspense and fear. How is it possible with terrible CGI and clearly being in front of a green screen? Nothing is scary because it's so obviously fake.

Please please for the love God please just let Jeepers Creepers die in peace. They're notoriously "bad movies" but that's what makes them good.

This is simply bad in all the wrong ways.

    Was not Jeepers Creepers
As a Jeepers Creepers fan, this was trash. Even JC:3 wasn't great but is a masterpiece compared to this piece of crap.

The movie was cheaply made, was done by people who obviously didn't care about the movie or it's predecessors and the acting was sub par at best, that's me being generous.

Skip to the end where they were able to throw basically a metal spear from a roof right into the creeper...watch how it's thrown then you'll see what kind of movie you'll about to see. 1980s movies had better cgi. Saves you over an hour.

Shame, could of been a great movie and telling of the creeper but you'll be dissatisfied I promise you.

    What did I just watch
Thought the start with the two old folks was joke about cgi, bad actors etc. Which it kinda was

But then they just "Let me show you how bad cgi, acting and story can get"

I believe they spent their entire budget on fancy cars, but then forgot to put money on cgi or acting.

Watching the movie, I almost wanted back to the start, because that was tolerable at least.

    1. Acting was extremely weak, I don't know why but felt like they were in drama class and the teacher said "Act this way" and they guessed what emotions are.

    2. Cgi is..... I don't even know it's so bad that first cgi ever made is better and they use it often as well, when it's clear it's cgi 3. Story - No

Was it a horror? No Was it horror for my brain? Yes as my brain wanted to literally escape from how bad this was

Director and whoever signed off on this shouldn't be allowed on a movie set anymore.

    Dreadful
Do not waste your time with the low budget, badly directed and wooden acting in this awful remake. The originals are way better in every aspect. I can't believe they decided to rip off the rights holders to create this utter rubbish. It's not even decent B movie stuff. Wait for the new reboot of the Creeper stuff, you will waste time watching this. I made it an hour in before I realised any kid with a camera could do way better. This is just a badly written grab for cash by the makers. I really can't express how bad this film actually is. In this day and age of cheap computer Fx, the quality of these effects shine for how bad they are and nothing else.
