Bad things happen to dislikable people too.
Good enough to watch, the filmmakers did the best they could with the family they had. You don't have to be a well balance and socially acclimated individual for a horrible crime to happen to you. Not all victims are likable. The mother is a far cry from the usual grieving mothers depicted in true crime docs. There are however a lot more dislikable mothers out there, Chris Watt's mother comes to mind.

You would like it if you lived any type of that life.
I really enjoyed this documentary and watched it two times because I could relate and I got out of that lifestyle. You wouldn't be able to understand the significance of this documentary unless you've been in any part of that lifestyle. If you have been a part of that lifestyle this is actually a really interesting and well done documentary. I think they did a great job on it and I'm so sorry for Crystal's Family. I'm proud of the mom for getting off drugs because of all this. A lot of the times people don't have a lot of choices based on where they live and grow up obviously Crystal wanted something else for her life but if drugs and gangs and violence is all that surrounds you, it becomes near impossible to not get drawn into it. Crystal seem like a really nice pretty girl. I'm not going to lie her brothers were very attractive lol. Very sad story and it's very interesting to get an inside view on all of it, but I do feel really bad for the family that they lost Crystal. I don't understand why so many people left bad reviews. I thought how they showed MySpace and all the computer stuff was really well done. In 2006 I was 19 so Myspace was still huge. I'm 34 now in this film just brought back so many memories I grew up in California as well and didn't get into this type of scene until my twenties but if you grew up in California this film probably meant something to you especially if you had any dealings with this lifestyle. Everyone else who hated it are just being snobs in my opinion. Even though they didn't live that lifestyle I'm surprised that they aren't able to appreciate something that they can't relate to. It's really sad to me that this documentary got so many bad reviews. I thought it was great!
