    Original Musical with heartwarming storyline
This is a movie suitable and entertaining for the whole family! My two and four year old both love this movie and are actively entertained by the film and the only animation in it is the live action crocodile, Lyle. The songs in this movie are mostly all original and very catchy. My wife and I love singing the songs and listening to them. There is also very little to no political statements made in this film, it is just pre family friendly entertainment. The actors all give grade A performances. Especially Javier Bardem, who plays Hector P. Valenti. His colorful antics and powerful voice is one of the magic that makes this movie so fun to watch. Finally, it is a heartwarming film that has a great message of it's not about fame, it's about family. Watch this movie you will not regret it.

A cheesy film that's fun to watch as a family...once
Lyle, Lyle Crocodile (2022) is a movie that my daughter and I recently watched on Netflix. The storyline follows a crocodile that can sing but gets nervous when he has to perform. His owner struggles to make ends meet but is optimistic the crocodile will overcome his fear. When the owner is away making enough money to survive, a family moves into the crocodiles home and receives the scare of a lifetime. When the son in the family becomes friends with the crocodile they decide to live together. A friendship like no other forms.

This movie is codirected by Josh Gordon and Will Speck, who also worked together on Blades of Glory, and stars Javier Bardem (No Country for Old Men), Winslow Fegley (Come Play), Constance Wu (Crazy Rich Asians), Scoot McNairy (Argo) and Brett Gelman (The Other Guys).

This movie is what you expect it to be, a family film with unique, unbelievable but entertaining circumstances. Javier Bardem was perfectly cast and Brett Gelman was a great villain. The animation and portrayal of Lyle was good and the film deals with real psychological challenges. The cat in this movie steals the show and is hilarious. I also enjoyed the farts, wrestling and comedy show. The songs were a bit inconsistent with some being better than others. The end was over the top but fit the film perfectly.

Overall, this is a cheesy film that's fun to watch as a family once. I would score this a 4/10 and recommend watching it with the appropriate expectations.

    Kinda dumb
I know it is a kid family friendly movie but the plot went downhill towards the end.

The premise is interesting. Javier Bardem is something. Interesting to see him play someone so differently (aka not that villainy). Shawn Mendes filling in the singing voices too.

It is just... even as a kid movie... like really people think Lyle is just a normal crocodile? It stands in 2 feet guys and the magician already brought him to that failure of a show in the beginning.

And like, the climax doesnt feel earned too. With the power if magical friendship, Lyle was able to sing in front of audience.

Could be better (I am slightly bias since you can have great kids film - like kungfu panda, how to train your dragons, and shrekkkk)

Sounds crazy to say, but that was actually pretty good!
So the trailer for this movie looked awful to me. I had no interest in seeing this whatsoever. Then, my daughter picked this to watch for family movie night so we turn it on. I was instantly impressed! Sure, the movie will not win any Academy Awards and doesn't have, the deepest plot in the world. But it was entertaining, funny, quirky, and very engaging. I was very pleasantly surprised. The crocodiles voice did not fit his face, but that would probably be one of my few criticisms icisms of the film. Overall, was a great time in the family watching a movie that was entertaining and much better than I expected.

Buddy, all it took is you.
It is about a singing crocodile struggling to get over his stage fright. I do enjoy these films aimed at kids. Shawn Mendes lively voice over aside, the film has a superb soundtrack which contributed big time in making this very entertaining. It checks everything one expects out of such film, a family moving in with the son feeling lonely and he getting to find the lonely crocodile left on it's own in the house by it's owner. Finding each other to fight their respective loneliness while the parents soften up to the new member of the family while a nagging neighbour tries to mess it up.

What really works here is how charming Shawn Mendes makes Lyle. There isn't a dull moment, just a conveniently written screenplay. I for one, wished for the mother to be bonding a bit more with Lyle considering the way she gets to accept him in the beginning. There isn't much to complain about, it is a sweet film filled with good songs making it a good watch. Adding to that, we have Javier Bardem playing Hector Valenti and his committed performance as Lyle's owner is fun to watch.

    Wxcellent
This movie is funny; the music is contagious; and the love and care of one another is beautiful. The special effects and scenes of the film are incredible! What I love about the film is how Lyle the Crocodile (Shawn Mendes), with his special talent changes the lives of the main characters in the film. It starts with Hector (Javier Barden), a struggling showman who never gives up on Lyle's talent or his own and, after some bumps, learns the importance of friendship and family. Josh and Lyle become friends in a very awkward way and from then on never want to be separated from each other. Josh's Mom (Constance Wu) and Dad (Scoot McNairy) can't believe their eyes when they see Lyle for the first time, and their hearts open wide for the big creature. My favorite scene is when Josh and Lyle sing, without any fear, to the whole city. The trust between them is honest and cute. As in almost every film, a bad guy (and his pet) are around. In this case, Mr. Grumps (Brett Gelman) - a very not fun and unhappy neighbor and his cat, Loretta, who almost destroy the show of a lifetime and a beautiful family. You must see it!

    It made me cry.
I really appreciate this movie, is a great family friendly that you can watch with anyone and had a charming moment, it really hit's home if you are a big animal person.

The special effects are cool all the animals in the movie look super cute and the music was amazing i put in on my Spotify playlist actually.

Great actors, funny story and cool music definitely a must watch for me.

And the background looks on point I don't know if they film on location in New York City but it look super nice and magical it really fella like a child's story come to life.

And of course a great message at the end of the movie not only for children but for anyone that fells like they don't fit in.
