Stop following people and live your life the way you want to live it
This movie is a perfect example, how bad social media is for all the influencers who post content on it and for all the users who follow it. Influencers often lie about their life to get more views and followers, while followers often believe everything these influencers show them. In the end we have millions and millions of unhappy people who are on antidepressants.

The followers are depressed, because they compare themselves with the people they follow, so they think their are not as attractive, their life is boring, uninterested... Majority of influencers are often depressed, because they are aware their whole life is a big scam. They lie how happy they are and how perfect their life is. Study found that over 90% of participants use filters or edit their photos. A vast majority also said they feel pressured to post "perfect" photos and look attractive, and that they compare themselves to others on social media.

So be smart and stop following people and stop comparing your life with them. Go outside and live your life, even if you are not rich and famous you can still enjoy it and find happiness.

    Nothing remotely ok
A few minutes in I thought that there was nothing and nobody I would like in this, so I thought I'd give it a little longer.

I was wrong - giving it a even an extra moment longer was a waste of time.

There is nothing sympathetic about any of the characters. Early on, there's a homeless woman who is given a kick - her mugging made me think, well, I wouldn't have kicked her myself but I don't really care.

I blame the writer and director for this mess. Inexperienced actors are going to accept any job that they're offered- I wish anyone appearing in this thing all the best in their future careers, and I hope that they realise that their aspiration as performers is the wrong direction. Office admin is a great place for perky young people to look for work, and there's heaps of scope to overact when working in an office - just think about the way people perform when the Lite and Lo runs out.

So as not to be totally negative, I'll point out that there's a very nice shot of a lovely tree at the 47 minute mark. Best watched with the sound down.

The making of someone who isn't okay
This is an example of an internet tale where the main character craves attention in her life as well she has her eye on a guy. She then creates a story about herself that isn't true, about being in Paris. Then the impossible happens and a terrorist attack takes place about 5 minutes at the same spot she last fake-posted herself at. She then decides to carry her story forward and claims she was there and witnessed the bombing. Of course this creates her online following to go up, up, and up. The story progresses from there but just know that Danni, the main character is totally self-serving.

She meets new people along the way all the while soaking up the attention and becomes friends with Rowan who just happened to have experienced real trauma from surviving a school shooting. The two become fast friends but Danni's original intentions were to just get ideas from Rowan so she could write an article about her Paris experience. So, soon after Rowans ideas become her own and an article is written.

The movie is good. Danni is a selfish and spoiled person unlike her friend, Rowan, although Rowan has no idea Danni is a fraud at first.

I'm okay with this film, and it's better than I thought....
    8.5/10

Before the movie begins the viewer is presented with a warning that states the main character is very unlikeable. With that being said, I couldn't help but laugh during the first thirty or so minutes of the film, even with having been shown what she did.

This had me thinking. Am I sociopath? I really don't have dislike for her. However, not long after thinking this, and the movie progressing, I began to feel disdain. Seeing her make her actions didn't boil anything in me, but made me upset that she would go to such lengths to be liked.

Deutch does an amazing job convincing you she's both a victim and a conniver. I didn't think it would ever be possible to hate a character of hers because they're always so sweet, but this is there's a first time for everything.

Big takeaway of the film is that while most people understand how the online world works. It opens your eyes even wider, especially if you've never been affected by such a liar, or fraud, online. Remember that not everything you see online is true, and not everyone is a victim. There's people out there who just want the attention, and glory.

I found this film to have the perfect start, middle, finish sequence and I loved every minute of it. It felt like a too good to be true type of story. The pacing of the film was excellent. It doesn't really slow down except for a few important places, and it doesn't dabble too long on others.

The ending was good and doesn't try to be more than it needs to be. It finishes exactly where it's meant to and leaves the rest to you.

The last thing I'll say is that if you've had this film on your mind to watch. Watch it! It's actually worth it. I put off watching it for so long because I thought it would literally be dumb and uninteresting. Turns out... it's the opposite.

Thank you for reading my review. I hope it helps you make a decision on the film. Until next time.... Enjoy the show!
