I love the big budget production but
BUT the writing could honestly be better. It's not cohesive. This movie gave me Hallmark vibes with the perfect family town and mediocre writing with a lot of plot holes and weird dialogues but in a positive note, also giving BIG Disney vibes. The weird part that really made my eyebrow crunch was how the mom just laughed at the end after all that just happened to her. When it was her first time dealing with something like that. The dad I can understand, he was dealing with spooky stuff all day. Also, the 3 new friends were so much more interesting than the main cast. I wanted to see THEIR adventure instead lol.

After all that, the movie was still fun! Perfect Halloween themed movie for the family. The adventure, the healthy family dynamic, the safe town environment, and dad bonding is something I can really appreciate. Marlon Wayans NEVER fails!

    Fun movie, but...
It was a cute movie, so if you plan to watch it with kids, It would be entirely up to you.

Several racial jokes throughout the movie coming from the same actor who I think is very funny and talented. Don't get me wrong, Marlon Wayans always makes me laugh. Had it been the other way around, however, I'm sure there would be tons of angry viewers. I wasn't mad. I get it. It's a comedy movie, but they could have made it fair and have people of other ethnicities join in on those racial jokes just to be fair.

Anyway, the plot was good! The limbo cloud scene reminded me of that 80's movie The Monster Squad. Only instead of monsters, this movie involved Halloween monster lawn decorations.

All in all, I enjoyed the movie a whole lot. I give it a solid 8/10.

    FORGET THE HATERS
This movie took a nostalgic trip back to those Halloween Disney that we've known to love. Definitely would watch again and again!! Excellent for kids, with a little adult humor in there as well!! Marlon Wayans no matter how much people try to cancel him, will forever be a legend in my book, truly a Goat at Horror Comedy movies. Ready for the sequel !! I loved how it didn't get too kid friendly or add too much horror, perfectly well balanced movie to get kids, adults, maybe even elders in the mood for Halloween. I think some people try to get too deep, and compare it with actual horror movies with their criticism, instead of just enjoying a fun, low key funny, Halloween movie.

    Sydney! Pop quiz.
Howard, Emily, and their daughter, Sydney, move from Brooklyn to smalltown USA (or, the safest town in the country, as is said in the movie). They arrive just in time for the town's Halloween festival that celebrates a local legend known as Stingy Jack (the villain,, that's all you need to know,, bc I can't remember all the specifics).

Howard (Wayans) works as a science teacher, and is not too fond of the town's abundance of Halloween enthusiasm, having had some disturbing childhood experiences during the holiday.

After getting to know some local teens, Sydney discovers that the house her family moved into is the ancestral home of the family that put an end to Stingy Jack,, but were they able to stop him for good?

Lol,, you can pretty much figure out where all this is going. It's not a deep movie in any way. It is however good Halloween fun. Wayans is Wayans in all his Wayanish ways,, and Rowland, well she still looks incredible (dang!).

So,, if you're looking for a fun Halloween movie,, this'll do.

    Not that fun
I mean I was expecting a fun Halloween comedy horror film. But nope. It was so boring.

The acting is sub-par. The dad character is unlikeable and...I dunno...but Marlon Wayans seems miscast. The family has no chemistry with each other. Emotions feel fake and unbelievable. The story itself is badly written. It wasn't even fun or hilarious, which I think is the main purpose of the film. Honestly it's so dull, I found myself using my phone instead while watching it.

Plot: A family move from New York to a small town and they unknowingly unleash an evil spirit or something and the spirit kinda wreaks havoc and stuff to the town and makes Halloween decorations alive.

I honestly do not recommend this movie.
