Gorgeous scenery but badly matched pair
The on location filming is the best part of the show. Right in Juliet's house in Verona.

The story is problematic. Things start off antagonistic with the lead couple fighting quite seriously. Borderline not funny. Then suddenly they bond and fall in love. They both have exes who were almost spouses and who show up to complicate things. These rom coms have to be a little exaggerated or they will be boring so I understand why the swings seemed extreme. But there wasn't much chemistry between the leads. Kat Graham is as always beautiful and classy looking. Her co star Tom Hopper did not match her. Too large and his features were common. Bad casting. Their exes actually had better chemistry with them.

    Just awful
Everything in this film is absurd. What a waste of time, I didn't even wait until the end because it was getting worse as the time passed. The characters are ridiculous, specially the female lead. I started to watch because the story was set in Verona, which is a town I deeply love, the scenarios were not enough to keep me watching this cr*p of a film. The male actor is massively hot but his acting is bad and quite limited, the same goofy with a bad sense of humor guy he portrays in Umbrella Academy. Looks are certainly not everything. To summarize, like I wrote in the title, just AWFUL. Avoid it.

Written by a man who hates women
Obviously written by a man who has no respect or understanding of women. Julie's character is obnoxious and as mature as her 8 year old students... as if. A character developed by someone who sees women as emotional, irrational and out to get men, with no care about the consequences of sending someone to gaol and lack any decorum as she throws pasta at the wall..?!? Who thinks this is either a way to win the audience or a believable character. And then there's the ridiculous, over played girlfriend, even if she kicking goals in business, of course is in a vapid industry. If you're going to write Romcoms, make it appealing to women, rather than some caricature illustrating your disdain for your target audience.

    Funnier Than Expected
As someone who is a big of rom coms, this pleasantly surprised me more than I anticipated. I was expecting a silly Hallmark type rom com but it charmed me. Yes, it's cheesy but the comedic relief kept occurring more than I expected and I loved it. It's so cute and charming. Perhaps I'm rating it higher because I love Italy as a setting and Kat Graham is such a great performer. I also loved the outfits that Kat wore because they added to the romantic fantasy and brought a pop of color. The music was pretty great as well. All in all, expect a close proximity and energy to lovers movie that will make a rom com fan happy.

Everything wrong with how our culture views love.
Grown adults behaving like teenagers when it comes to love. Poorly thought through script in general with many holes in logic. Acting is half decent but there are terrible accents. Beautifully shot- and some of the travel experiences are comically close to some I've had in real life- But beyond that it supports a broken view of how love and relationships actually work and are successful. I couldn't just let go to just enjoy the escapism from it- I just kept getting frustrated. Let's have a love story where adults act like adults- there's enough drama built into that sort of a relationship. This just sets up poor expectations that are hard to break when dating in the real world.
