    Touches of Genius.
While there were touches of genius, this movie was obviously not meant to be a blockbuster for a general audience. Although we don't daily use the continental Portuguese the only way to get the gist of the dialogue was to use the subtitles. This was after trying different soundtracks. After all that effort to bring forth the story to the screen maybe the cast should have spoken Russian. Haven't the paperback yet, but thinking an Oryol/Georgian youth with a military haircut would have been a better choice for the starring role. Tom Prior and the entire cast get an A for their efforts in any event.

Nothing revolutionary. But a solid tale of Soviet-era man love.
It doesn't hurt that the male leads are insanely attractive in their communist uniforms.

It does take the viewers through the lengths they go through to hide their romance in an impossible situation.

The acting is quite good. There's those two other guys that do mean things are super-jerks. And the one guy who you think should be bad was kinda surprisingly nice. I suppose Luisa had to exist.

The plot is simple and well-paced. Poor Dima and the apple pie.

The ending is the ending that one can imagine for a story set within the Iron Closet.

    The music is efficiently used.

I do hope to see both of main actors appearing in a great many future projects.

    Wonderful
Nice boys, amazing role playing, difficult life in Russia and also terrible toupee of Sergey. And really I wonder that why they speak English? It has been accused of 'shaming Moscow' and 'punching the Russian soldier in the face'. But the makers of this powerful drama about dogfights and dangerous desires refuse to be silenced.

A Very Beautiful and Touching Love Story. Excellent Job.
I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. It had my attention right from the start. It is touching, classy, and very moving. Well done to everyone involved in making this movie. Not since Brokeback Mountain have I seen a movie of this quality.
