The film appeared not based in real NY city scenes
The film seems to be filmed in Toronto and NY city. I have lived in the NYC and this is not a reflection of the city. I have also lived in Toronto and many scenes are actually from Toronto even though they may kind of dub the scenes of Toronto to NY city. I mean have these people visited NY city? I saw many many trash bags and rats, subways are very dirty, and the smell of itself is overwhelming to say the least. And they show none of these in the movie. I just wish the film industry needs to show the real NY city if they want us to consider any events that may have happened in the past as this is an important topic for women. Why do they show the fake NY city and mislead us when they want us to consider such an important topic?

Also, I submitted the review which was NOT inflammatory but it is shown as "Not eligible" not eligible for what?? People are allowed to submit their opinions on the movie, stop taking away people's rights to freedom of speech. I have seen so many people claiming now that their reviews are removed. None of my previous reviews include profanity and none touches "eligibility" criteria.

It is a fact that the film is not showing much about NY true scenes. I am so sick of this film industry overhyping this so called "decaying city" (everyone is aware of this on every social media now) which is in dire needs of improvement in true life. Stop overhyping the city and show the real side so people can start accepting the horribleness and start correcting itself. NYC needs a new mayor badly...

The acting was mediocre, and they didn't show the real NY city, which is disappointing. I do not also feel the NY city is the place to be. No true courageous women feel the NY city as the be all end all place, and why this main character who was played by two different people who don't even look a like was so bent out of getting a job at NY times? Are they aware that NY Times is not even read by people here in where I live though other publications are? It was also off putting that the main character woman seemed to be using her fiancé (she was admitting to it too) to get over the ordeal she experienced as a childhood. The mom character is very unlikable as she was shaming her child for her traumatic experience she faced. What kind of mom act this way?

The film is also choppy all over the place. The storyline is forced and rushed more appropriate for series and not a film.

This is not relatable as a woman. Please do better.

    That was a heavy one!
Wow this was like watching 2 movies in one. I would certainly love to see them develop the student's part fully, I think that would equally be an amazing movie. Maybe because I really felt those scenes more than I did the actual movie. But in all, the movie was solid. I loved the cinematography and I loved the acting all round. Story was well put together.

And even though the movie was mainly about women voicing out their rape experiences, it had that whole Me Too Movement vibe, it also touched on alot of other very sensitive subjects like gun violence, bullying and peer pressure in high schools.

It's definitely a must watch even though it started off abit slow, stay with it, the food won't take long to cook. I promise.

    A very powerful drama
This is a very powerful Shakespearean style tragedy and drama. This movie is beyond powerful. It depicts the tragedy of sexual assault from the victim's point of view. The world around her is too misogynistic to empathize with her and her pain. In fact, she is continuously blamed. Her mother told her that she was disgusted with her. The school blames her for the subsequent tragedies that face her offenders. Even her fiancé is unpleasantly shocked that she has publicly disclosed her tragedy. In fact, she has to constantly defend her position. After all, she was the victim and she has suffered the agony of sexual assault.

Pent-up anger from being apologetic for too long
    Beautifully done.

It unearthed some of the most important things that a lot of people don't talk about. About wrestling with your own thoughts and feelings every single time you say "sorry" and seconds after that feeling angry at yourself, thinking "why didn't I just say F you," that's looooonnnnggg overdue. The last bit of the movie says it all, really.

For those who don't know how you can guilt-trip yourself this way, about how much time spent to make yourself likeable but keep on having internal monologues that makes you just hate yourself...about how hard it is to grow out of your low self-esteem... ya'll won't get it. You just can't. Ani obvs had it worse, being a rape victim & no way to get out of that cage of a feeling... Being Asian, I can see how girls can relate to this. Pent-up anger, it's like carbon monoxide.

Bravo, Mila Kunis. I love the small metaphors, btw. This is a good one. 👍🏼

    Okay movie but not mesmerizing.
Luckiest Girl Alive isn't bad movie but it could have been better, could have used some more explicit scenes of revenge or a bit more suspense action. Now I found it to be a bit too long and dragged out. But it's watchable, certainly for one time but not more. The lead character is played by both Chiara Aurelia for the younger version and Mila Kunis for the adult version. They both did a good job but I prefer Mila Kunis in comedies than in a more serious role like this one. The narrating voice of Mila Kunis wasn't really adding something to the movie either. I would have left it out. The story is okay, easy to follow, but it misses something like a grand finale. And now it's just a movie out of a dozen, one that I won't remember anything about in a couple weeks.

    Trauma at its toughest time
Mila did a amazing job in this movie, it can be disturbing to others but people need to know how it impacts others.

Mila's character has a eating disorder, was sexually assaulted and got dragged into taking someone's life to defend her friend in a school shooting.

Mila shows in this that frankly we are all survivors, no matter how bad your trauma may effect you, you are still here doing the best that you can be.

Even if small things trigger your trauma, you are still doing great. Your still and are human. No matter how different you may be from someone.

Loved this movie, I do recommend it.
