A Flawed Fantasy Adventure with Bollywood's Touch
"Brahmastra (I)" emerged as one of the highly anticipated big-budget Bollywood movies. I was fortunate to catch it in 3D for a mere 75 rupees (less than $1 USD) on the momentous 75th anniversary of Bollywood Cinema, three weeks after its release amidst varied reviews. The theater was packed, brimming with eager viewers.

The film began with a brilliant premise, a rare treasure hunt in the Bollywood landscape, intertwined with fantasy, romance. Ranbir Kapoor was exceptional, portraying a character with a captivating arc that shone brightly in the first half. However, even the brilliance of Amitabh Bachchan, one of my favorites, faltered in his role due to poorly written dialogues.

Alia Bhatt's character suffered from underdevelopment, making her one of the weaker aspects of the movie. The antagonist although portrayed well, lacked the strength and menace needed to be truly compelling. Despite these shortcomings, the movie remained enjoyable, offering a fun-filled experience with moments of excitement and intrigue.

The script, unfortunately, suffered from a messy narrative with numerous loopholes. The first half's adventurous elements, featuring divine culture and captivating hunts, were highlights worth relishing.

However, the climax disappointed, overloaded with unnecessary fiction. The attempt to create an epic fantasy fell short. Despite these flaws, "Brahmastra (I)" managed to pique my interest, and I appreciated Bollywood's venture into this genre.

Overall it presents a mixed bag of fantasy and adventure, brimming with potential but hindered by weak character development and overblown elements. While enjoyable in parts, it fell short of becoming the epic.

    All Style, No Substance..
These are movies that I call "Empty Spectacle", a film that tries to dazzle us with special effects and a grand scale but utterly fails in writing and screenplay. Except SRK & Nagarjuna, everyone was overacting. The story is wafer thin and has hardly any connection with actual Indian Mythology. The love story is supposed to be the emotional core of the film, but it felt very artificial and forced. The special effects, for a Bollywood film, is really commendable. But everytime that I thought a scene had potential, it was utterly ruined by the Kindergarten level dialogues written by Hussain Dalal and Ayan Mukerji. But they have successfully created an intrigue for the future characters in the sequel, hopefully they will deliver a better film.

    A Good Try
I must say this was a very good try and efforts from the Writer and the Director in giving a good fantasy / Super hero movie.

The concept of connecting the storyline with Indian Mythology was a good angle. Overall launching part 1 and two was also a good strategy. Loved this idea and goal.

Disappointment is the romantic angle. This mad the movie a masala flick. Ranbeer and Alia were funny when they were acting in the romantic scenes. Within 1 days they are crazily in love with each other, Wow..

Also the dialogues which were supposed to be funny were not looking funny due to the acting done by both of them. They could do better for sure.

This doesnt meet the Hollywood standards but effort is worth appreciation. Would love to watch part II. Maybe they do better there.

What a cringefest. Could have been one of the greatest film!!
Remove Alia, Get some background research, get in a good writer. Solve all these for part 2 please. I skipped almost all love angles ( Saved at least an hour on a 3 hour unnecessarily long film ) and didn't miss a thing lol.

The love story was completely redundant and useless the movie. I dont get the positive reviews for this movie lol.

6/10 for visuals 0.5/10 for the story. Hopefully they will so a better writing for the second part.

Wish we could have gotten a better narration for the story. First hour with astras introduction and the details and the second hour with some good plots and flights.

Over-rated , cringe fest and laughable acting
Had quite great expectations from this movie but have to say was super dissatisfied and disappointed with the story line and specifically Ranbir kapoor's acting(his constant thinking mode). The movie lacked basic storyline, continuation and the emptiness of each and every character, though other actors did a good job with the character they were given. Ranbir kapoor who is a great actor looked amateur playing Shiva and looked as if he was struggling onscreen. Casting an actress of this caliber and giving her such a basic and unimportant role feels unfair. All In all pretty disappointing movie which took more than five years to release.

this film has the potential but that potential is hidden by some mistakes
This film has became average because of some issues i want to point out.

    1. Song issue: songs are great of this movie no doubt but the placement of song is not good. Eg kesariya, just before a serious scene a love song started 2. Love story: creators didnt pay attention to the main plot and doing love story throughout the main climax 3. Dialog issue: somewhere they are just screaming dialog with no emotion, that can be better.

Rather than it can be a good movie. As an anime watcher i want that animation and gfx to come in india. So please rectify these problems. And it will boom. The songs, sound engineering, fights and some dialogs are good.

    Good one time watch
I don't know why this movie was trashed so badly by news channel.. movie is not that bad and surely a one time watch.. negative point is the unnecessary love story and length.. I watched it in hotstar. I would have watched it in 3D but the unnecessary negative reviews changed my mind. But remaining parts I will surely watch in 3D.. special effects are good and will set a new benchmark for Hindi movies.. big b , SRK , Mauni Roy are superb.. Ranbeer underperformed.. the point ends at a note that viewers will wait for part 2.. I hope they cut on love story part and focus on main story.. best of luck for remaining parts..
