Black Adam: Electrifying Action, Underwhelming Plot
"Black Adam" electrifies the DC Extended Universe with raw power and a morally complex anti-hero. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson embodies the titular character, bringing a brooding intensity and imposing physicality to the role. The film's action sequences are spectacular, showcasing Black Adam's immense power and delivering thrilling superhero spectacle.

However, the narrative suffers from a generic plot and underdeveloped supporting characters. The Justice Society of America, while visually striking, is underutilized, their potential overshadowed by Black Adam's dominance. The film's attempts at humor often fall flat, and the villain lacks the charisma and depth to pose a compelling threat.

Despite these shortcomings, "Black Adam" succeeds in delivering a visually stunning and action-packed blockbuster. It marks a bold departure from the traditional superhero formula, exploring a morally ambiguous protagonist and setting the stage for future DCEU installments. While the film may not resonate with everyone, it undeniably leaves a lasting impression.

    Watch it more than once
I thought this was a solid 7 first time through. Second time through it grew on me. 3rd time it's one of my favorites. I don't know why everyone is hating on this. It's a solid movie with good actors. I think DJ did a good performance, it was definitely not what you usually expect from him. But I thought that was a nice change from the straight man comedies he usually does. I haven't read the comic AR know the back story to Black Adam and honestly I'm just filling space at this time.

So like I said watch it a couple times I think you'll really like it after watching it two or three times. Just sit back and enjoy the movie.

I did like it... a lot!
The story line might be a bit superficial, but I did like The Rock in this role, he fits well in it.

I don't understand the negative review, from people reading just comics books, in my opinion they should just continue to read the comics, and do not go to cinema, staying in their own world if they don't want things to change a little bit.

It is action packed, vfx are nice, even some funny meme.

I did like the performance of Pierce Brosnan, a bit less the guys with the wings, I felt he was over acting.

So why 10 out of 10, if I criticize few things, because over all it was a good movie that I can watch and re-watch again, and still enjoying it again.

    fun forgetable action flick
Some good action in this antihero-superman-ish flick. It's all very unmemberable but it's enjoyable enough except for the cute spunky kid who wore out his welcome immediately. Believe his name I'm blanking on is always good and is entertaining in this, there are some good lines, and I like the whole where were you superheroes all this time we needed you and why are you here now to ruin our fun thing.

I wouldn't say it's a great movie, but if you like superhero films you could do worse.

And now I need an extra 100 characters. Not enough. A few more. Almost there. Wish I had more to say, really!

    Not really that good
I will say this first, I love all the actors that were in this movie! Amazing and fantastic effects like one the best effects I have ever seen however there were many time were I couldn't hear the actors lines over the music and that's one of the reasons why I was confused with this movie! Who ever did the sound editing for the music, did not do a good job!

If you all are a huge fan of amazing beautiful effects and fantastic slow motion explosions and you just don't care about the story in the movie then this is the movie for you!

There was only one part that I liked with his movie and that is when Black Adam (Dwayne Johnson) was talking about his son saving his life.

    Total dross, CGI nonsense fest.
Good lord, this possible one of the worst superhero movies I've ever seen. Almost everything about it is bad, except a vaguely interesting start.

The script is absolute rubbish, cliched nonsense. The twists in the story are demented and nonsensical, put there solely to extend the movies run time.

The acting is poor and bland. The comedy is poor and bland.

The CGI is ridiculously continuous to the point of being annoying, and looks cheap and tacky. The Sci-Fi vehicles have awful designs and make no sense...

And oh my god... the Music... is so crap. Continuous awful dramatic orchestral action music in every scene that lends nothing to the action except and annoying drone.

It appauls me that people get paid millions of dollars to write and create this complete dross. I do not understand why these rich corporations with all their cash, cannot hire talented writers or directors.

I'd give this film a miss if I were you.

At least I no longer fear hell, but always fear idiot plot
This was otherwise a solid movie with solid performances.

The undead invasion that could have been repelled by an army of grandmas was less impressive.

The hero suicide was also not cool. He even says to Black Adam "Don't you dare give up on us now, the world needs you", then one of the most powerful characters in the universe proceeds to commit suicide becuase he's tired. A sad way to end one of the best characters I've seen in DC, a franchise I have not followed for these very reasons.

The Flash, to me, was pretty cheesy and when you write about superpowers, you have to use them responsibly in the plot. Like Superman lowering his glasses, looking at a spot on the wall, then magnifying vision after.

I feel like I'll check out another DC, but if they have a similar scene where a telekenetic illusionist puts his actual self as front and center in a clone army, then takes his power helmet off to die and buy the 8 seconds that his clones could have bought, 8 seconds that also appears to be in no way needed with the paper zombie army, then there's a problem. This whole plot point required a lot more clarity or justification, other than to keep the movie going and / or let Pierce do one of these movies before retiring.

I was very concerned after the first fight in seeing the movie was only half way through, that I would see filler like this, and If I see it again in the next DC, I dont' really have much call to re-visit. Unless Dwayne Johnson is in it, then I might give it another try. I really wanted to be able to give it more than 7.

    Not entertained at all
Thought this movie was terrible. All special effects and far from good. . Can't take movies like that.

I understand why the Rock would make this (obviously for the money) but really???? Just too many effects and--- how many things need to be blown up?

Let's hope that the get back to action movies that have character development and doesn't require stupid and inane super powers. Blockbuster movies need to improve and be more realistic I am having a difficult time letting all of you guys understand how dull and totally boring this was. I definitely would not watch this if I had known.

Hope this is it. Please please NO MORE!

    Unexpectedly fun!!
As the title says, my wife made me watch this movie & I fully expected to hate it but I was so pleasantly surprised at how fun it was. I am not a huge Dwayne Johnson fan but he did a good job in this movie portraying the "anti hero". The acting throughout was good, amazing special effects & the story was great even if somewhat changed from the books. I was NOT a fan of the portrayal of Hawkman & Dr Fate, I thought they both could have been better especially Hawkman! I sincerely hope DC continues to make great movies like this & not the horrible ones like Wonder Woman 1984 or Aquaman. Make sure you stay watching into the credits for a GREAT post movie scene, if you don't then you missed a great cameo.
