    Crafty War Storytelling
The direction, acting, and script were excellent but the CINEMATOGRAPHY made you feel you were in there with the characters. Based on true and very tragic events, this is movie-making at its finest. Ole Bordegal made it happen for me. The opening scene, whether true or not, set-up the whole story, and I did not even know what the atiry was about. The build-up introduced the main characters and their relationships with their families and the people around them. The flight/attack scene was the only point where I thought, were unclear and less engaging. The result of that scene though, more than made up for the vagueness. I thiught the ending was a slam dunk, a aubtle but very effective one. I wish movies were made this way.

    Excellent Movie
An amazing film that shows human suffering during wars. Children are the most vulnerable members of our society suffer the most; however, they can different kind of strength during the toughest situations. The acting is very realistic and very touching through out the film. Foreign films surprise me -every once in a while- with excellent acting and realistic endings. Such endings make you think about the message of the story that the director is trying to convey to the audience. In this case, war is ugly, painful, ruthless and devastating to all. Politicians and military leaders beat the drums of war all the time since they are not the ones who suffer from such decisions.

Allied Evil is the Invasion of Europe by Evil Western Power to Subject them to their Colonial Brutality. This Movie Exposes it Very Well.

    Tragic story poorly realised
It's obvious from the first 20 minutes that a mature and skilled screenwriter was working on something else because this feels like it was written by a teenager.

There are several over-the-top situations almost immediately that delve into the realm of implausibility. Even though terrible things do happen in life, especially in conflict, in a film you need a little bit more skill to pull off such events. There is no nuance. There is no subtlety. There's no motivations for characters. Its all very heavy handed in an immature way.

That's just the opening. People behave in immature ways. Unrealistic ways. It's just one injustice after another. This was written by someone who does not know how to craft a script. Or seem to understand adult emotions.

    The religious angle was ludicrous.

People giving it 10 out of 10 either haven't seen enough decent films or are letting their patriotism speak for them. Such serious subject matter deserves far better treatment.
