    Stunning
The comparisons to John Wick stop once the fight scenes begin. This film and Patel's performance are filled with such ethos and rage that this just oozes revenge. And wow does it deliver.

John Wick's fight scenes, although brutal and stylish, are the equivalent of mashing controller buttons.

These fight scenes are what would happen if you could only use kill moves one time.

Some really cool representation happens, and isn't shoved in your face. One of the characters makes a very astute comment about being an outsider, but simply being misunderstood.

Stunning that this is his directorial debut as well, nicely done.

    All about the reptilian brain
Yes Dev Patel can also make a John Wick film. Watch it if you must. Strictly for budding teens. Don't worry it has no intention to teach one about Indian politics or religion, let alone current cultural affairs. I lost count how many adversaries were destroyed and how many punches and kicks the Monkey Man absorbed, The genre of films that profess one man against the world and winning against all comers is just pathetic, No Rocky heroism here. Here's hoping there will be no sequels. Back to the drawing board Dev and try to make a meaningful film rather than waste two hours of my life on this silt.

    Monkey madness
Not quite sure where to begin firstly I'm not entirely certain what the plot was meant to be some person is meant to be the one there's some stuff about fighting sometimes the film is in one language and sometimes another though I should stress here I'm not complaining about this point more so stressing that this is what you're going to get anyway there's a point where the main character kicks ass and there's a really smart dog that's about all I could make sense of truly I went into this with high hopes I did research on this film and all of what I read sounded promising that is what I think annoys me the most there was such a massive gulf between what this film could have been and what this film actually is it could have been a mighty masterpiece, instead it's a muddled mess if you haven't seen it yet then don't if you have I'm very sorry for that but there's no way to change the past.

    Almost didn't watch
I almost passed on this jewel. I thought it was more Indian song and dance BS, boy I was wrong. This bad boy out Wicks John Wicks. Spectacular fight scenes that are ultra violent and ultra realistic. I was put off by the anti Muslim overtones, but not enough not to really enjoy the movie. India, like the rest of the world, has some far right politicians so this was good for me to see one get killed as the end big bad. I'm sorry I missed this on the big screen, though I will buy the disc to watch it on my home theater again!

I do hope director Dev Patel gets another shot a film making right away even if he doesn't star in the movie. He has an eye like Tarantino that just gets the scene right. This is action movie making at its finest.
